Planned in response to our growing order volume and expanding product range, our new logistics centre is now operational. The facility offers 14,000 m² of covered space and three times the stock capacity of our previous warehouse.
Capacity and infrastructure
The new site can hold 45,000 distinct spare part lines in stock simultaneously. The warehouse was designed around a narrow-aisle racking system with six-metre multi-level shelving. Order picking is managed with barcode handheld terminals; because every product's shelf location is recorded in the system, average picking time has fallen by 40%.
The facility has eight loading bays. Four are dedicated to carrier integration, two to our own vehicle fleet and two to customer collections. That separation prevents dispatch queues forming during peak hours.
Impact on operations
- Same-day dispatch cut-off extended to 17:00. Orders for stocked items placed before that time are handed to the carrier the same day.
- Availability has improved. The additional space allowed safety stock levels to be raised on fast-moving lines.
- Mis-ship rates have fallen. Barcode picking and outbound verification have reduced incorrect shipments to a minimum.
- Returns and exchanges are faster. A dedicated returns receiving area has been created.
A dedicated area for heavy parts
A separate storage and handling area has been built for heavy items such as gearboxes, differentials, engine blocks and complete axles. It is equipped with two overhead cranes and a heavy-duty forklift, so preparing heavy items for dispatch no longer slows the flow of other orders.
Our aim with the new facility is to make consistent speed and accuracy sustainable for our dealers and fleet customers on every single order. We thank all the partners who placed their trust in us throughout the investment process.
